Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Remote (US Hours)
Project-Based / Full-Time (as required)
Project-focused role supporting Professional Services engagements including migrations, infrastructure builds, and scoped delivery work.
Role Overview
Professional Services Engineers work on defined projects with clear scope, timelines, and deliverables. This includes Microsoft 365 migrations, Azure infrastructure builds, cloud modernization initiatives, and remediation projects for MSP clients.
This is not ongoing ticket-based support. You're brought in to execute scoped work, collaborate with client stakeholders, deliver against project plans, and hand off completed work to the client's operational teams.
Being part of the Professional Services talent pool does not guarantee immediate project assignment. It ensures priority consideration as new engagements are launched and workload requirements emerge.
Responsibilities
Execute scoped Professional Services projects including migrations, infrastructure builds, and cloud deployments
Collaborate with MSP leadership, client stakeholders, and Principal Engineers during project execution
Deliver work according to project timelines, technical specifications, and quality standards
Document project work comprehensively for client handoff and operational continuity
Identify risks, blockers, and scope concerns early and communicate them clearly to project leadership
Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to client teams post-project completion
Requirements & Experience
Minimum 5 years of project-based MSP or consulting experience with a focus on migrations, infrastructure builds, and scoped delivery work
Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, hybrid infrastructure, and cloud migration methodologies
Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within scope
Ability to work with stakeholders, manage expectations, and communicate technical progress clearly
Comfortable working independently during project execution with minimal oversight
Experience with project documentation, knowledge transfer, and client-facing technical communication
Relevant certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Certified Expert) are valued but not required. Project delivery experience is the primary qualification.
How This Role Fits Into MSP Operations
Professional Services engagements are project-driven, not operational. MSPs engage ElastiQ's Professional Services team when they need specialized expertise or additional capacity for client migrations, infrastructure builds, or remediation initiatives.
Engineers in the Professional Services talent pool are brought into projects based on technical fit, availability, and project requirements. Work is structured around defined deliverables, timelines, and handoff criteria. Once a project is complete, you transition to the next engagement or return to the talent pool until the next suitable project emerges.
This setup works well for engineers who prefer project-based work over ongoing operational support, value variety in technical challenges, and are comfortable with variable workload intensity.
